Example animation at an example site, Riverside, Block B: a worker's phone approaches from 340 metres away, crosses into the site geofence, checks in at 07:12 forty metres inside, and joins the on-site list, which goes from 17 to 18 people.

Small team? Five things. One app.

Who's on site, are they wearing the right kit, will the materials turn up, is the paperwork signed and is the work done right? That's most days for a small builder. Site Control does those five things, on your phone and theirs.

    Clock in by GPS

Your lads tap Check in when they're on site, and only when they're on site. You see who's in, when they got there and their hours for the week. No more guessing on a Friday.

    • Only works inside the site boundary you set
    • Hours add up to a weekly timesheet
    • Check-outs away from site are flagged
Example phone screen: checked in at 07:12, 25 metres inside the site. Three people on site with their arrival times, and 96 hours 40 minutes logged this week.

    PPE, ticked and on record

Before they check in, they confirm their hard hat, hi-vis and boots. It's recorded against their name and the time, so if anyone ever asks, you can show it.

    • You choose the checklist for each job
    • Ask for a photo where it matters
    • No PPE confirmed, no check-in
Example phone screen: a PPE checklist with hard hat, hi-vis, safety boots and gloves all ticked, and a Confirm and check in button. Recorded against the worker at 07:12.

    Order materials from site

Short of plasterboard? Request it from site with what you need and when. Your merchant gets it on their own portal and confirms delivery, and you can see where it's up to.

    • The merchant marks it acknowledged and delivered
    • If they don't reply in time, it's flagged to you
    • No merchant on board yet? It comes to you to order
Example phone screen: a material request for plasterboard, plaster and scrim tape, sent to the merchant at 09:41, acknowledged at 09:58, delivery due Thursday at 08:00.
  4. 04of 05

    Paperwork, read and signed

RAMS, method statements, the client's site rules. Send them to the team and they read and sign on their phone. You can see straight away who hasn't.

    • They scroll to the end before they can sign
    • Signatures are kept with the document
    • For information, must read or must sign: you choose
Example phone screen: a RAMS document that must be signed, with a handwritten signature, and 3 of 4 workers signed.

Tasks, with photos of the work

Set the day's jobs and who's on them. When a job's done they tick it off with photos, so you can check the work without driving over.

    • Photos are kept with the task
    • See what's done, what's on and what's still to do
    • Give a task to one person or the whole team
Example phone screen: a finished task with two photos of the work, and two more tasks, one in progress and one to do.

Taking on bigger jobs?

It's the same plan. The tools bigger sites need are already in it, ready for the day a job calls for them. Until then you can leave them alone, and there's nothing extra to pay.

  • Fire roll call
  • Permits to work
  • Inductions and CSCS cards
  • Site diary
  • Weather delays
  • Snag lists
  • Toolbox talks
  • RIDDOR reporting
  • Payroll exports

Every site. Every trade. One screen.

Owners see every job, project managers see the jobs they run, and workers see only their own. Everything a small builder gets, plus the tools a busy site needs.

  • Owner

Every job, every person and every record across the company. Billing stays on the web portal.

  • Project manager

The jobs they run: approvals, permits, roll calls, timesheets and the Needs attention inbox.

  • Worker

Their own check-ins, tasks and documents. Free, with one account whoever they work for, and no one sees who else they work for.

  • Supplier

The requests sent to them, on their own portal. They acknowledge each one and mark what's delivered.

The everyday basics come too: GPS check-in, PPE checks, material requests, signed documents and tasks with photos.

When the alarm goes, you already have the list.

Everyone who checked in at the gate is on it. Start the roll call from your phone, mark people safe at the assembly point and see straight away who is still missing.

Example fire roll call in progress: 16 of 18 people safe, 2 unaccounted, with a list of names and their status.
Example hot-works permit in its 60-minute fire watch, with a countdown to when it can close.

Fire roll call. Built from the live check-in list. Late arrivals are added as they turn up, and the finished roll call is kept with the day's records.

Permits to work. Hot works, work at height, confined spaces, excavations and isolations. Issue, accept, suspend and close them out on site. Hot works can't close until the 60-minute fire watch is done.

Inductions and cards. No induction, no check-in. CSCS and plant cards are stored with their expiry dates, and you hear about them before they lapse.

RIDDOR. Report an incident with photos from your phone. Flag it as RIDDOR reportable and the deadline is counted down for you.

Rain stopped the pour at 11. It's in the diary.

The site diary is built from what actually happened that day: who checked in, what was delivered, the weather and any incidents. Log a weather delay with photos and it's there, timed and dated, when the claim comes round.

Snags get a photo, a location and an owner. They stay open until someone closes them, and the ones ready for inspection come to you.

Example site diary for Tuesday 29 September: first check-in at 06:58, toolbox talk, a block delivery, a two hour weather delay, a snag and the last check-out.
Example weather delay record: 2 hours 10 minutes of heavy rain, with photos.
Example snag: chipped worktop in plot 4 kitchen, assigned to joinery, due Friday.

Hours come from the gate, not from memory.

Example check-in confirmation: checked in at 07:12, 40 metres inside the geofence.

Workers check in on their phone, and only when they're inside the site geofence. They file a short end-of-day report before they check out. By Friday the week is already on the timesheet, split into regular hours, overtime and breaks.

Check them, correct anything odd and approve. Then export for Xero, Sage or QuickBooks, or as a generic file, with each worker's CIS status on it. Site Control records hours; it doesn't work out tax.

The 7am briefing works the same way: run the toolbox talk on one phone and everyone signs on it. Workers use the app free and keep one account, whoever they work for.

Example weekly timesheets: regular, overtime and break hours for four workers, two approved and two to approve, with an export for payroll.

Order from site. Chase from the same screen.

Raise a material request on site with what you need and when. It goes to your supplier through their own portal, where they acknowledge it and mark what's delivered. If they don't reply in time, it's escalated and lands in Needs attention, before the gang is stood waiting for blocks.

Example material request: 12 lengths of 100mm clay drain pipe and 4 bulk bags of Type 1 sub-base, acknowledged by the supplier.
Example Needs attention row: one request with no supplier reply, with a Chase action.

Questions

Anything else? Email hello@sitecontrol.uk and a person will answer.

No. It's built just as much for small builders. A firm with a handful of people uses the same app, and the plan includes 5 workers for £4.99 + VAT a week (you, the owner, aren't counted). The big-site tools, like permits and roll calls, are there when a job needs them, and you can leave them alone when it doesn't.

You get 6 weeks of full access to every feature. A card is required, and each organisation gets one free trial. We don't charge your card until the trial ends; after that you move to the paid plan automatically. Cancel any time during your trial at no charge: your trial ends straight away and your organisation becomes read-only until you subscribe. There is no free plan.

The plan is £4.99 + VAT a week. We bill it monthly at £21.62 + VAT, or yearly at £233.48 + VAT, which works out at £4.49 + VAT a week. Prices exclude VAT, which is added at the standard UK rate.

Your plan includes 5 workers. Each extra worker is £0.99 + VAT a week, billed at £4.29 + VAT a month and added to your next invoice. We show you the cost before you invite anyone past 5. If a project manager's invite would add a paid worker, it waits for your approval, so nothing is charged without your say-so.

Yes. Cancel any time during your trial at no charge. After the trial, a monthly plan ends 28 days after you cancel, with full access until then. An annual plan is paid upfront: it runs to the end of the year you paid for and then doesn't renew, and unused months aren't refunded. Without a trial or subscription your organisation is read-only: your records stay available and workers can still check in and out.

Never. Workers use the mobile app free. Only organisations pay.

You set each site's location and a geofence radius (200 m by default). A worker's phone checks they are inside the geofence before a check-in is accepted. Check-outs away from site are flagged for review.

The web portal runs in any modern browser. The mobile app runs on iPhone and Android.
